Since many of you may not know me you may be wondering where I stand on some of the key issues facing our community and state.
I will be running to uphold the basic beliefs and values of our founding fathers such as:
(1) Our Country and State were founded using Judeo-Christian beliefs.
(2) Our Country and States were founded under a Constitution and a Bill of Rights.
Therefore my basic beliefs are based on Conservative moral values such as:
(1) Pro – life
(2) I believe strongly in the second amendment
(3) Pro – Family
(4) Pro – Right to Work
(5) I am in favor of expanded rights for Veteran’s
(6) Pro – Business
The largest problem that Michigan faces today is our unemployment rate, which has sky rocketed to over 15%. This problem has been caused by eight years of Michigan’s significant government expansion at an average rate of $2 Billion per year. We need Representatives that will use common sense to solve this economic issue. The only way to fix this problem is to shrink government and create a business friendly environment. Therefore, we must lower or even repeal some of the taxes to the entrepeneurs and business owners in our state. History shows that when you increase the tax burden on these groups they relocate to friendlier environments and take valuable jobs and property tax contributions with them. History also indicates that when businesses and entrepreneurs are allowed to grow and prosper they will expand the economy. Government jobs are nice, but they do not add to the economic growth of a state. When entrepreneurs are allowed to work in an environment that is conducive to business growth they produce more goods and services, which then increase the amount of jobs available. When they expand and increase jobs they contribute greater taxes even at the lower rates. This generates more revenue for the state to run the necessary programs, such as, transportation, health, education and welfare.
In the short run, to keep them viable, we need to fix how we fund the K -12 and higher education systems. Students are a key component to our future and overall success as a state. We need to have a strong workforce development system to upgrade and re-train workers for jobs of the future.
This will not be an easy task; however, I am committed to this mission and am the only person who has the leadership abilities needed to push these changes forward from the 103rd District.
